ABOUT ME

A shirtless man with muscular build and tattoos stands against a black brick wall, looking to the side with his hands on his hips.

Hi! I’m Ian Bucrek, founder of Grind Lab Fitness. Fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I played a variety of sports before eventually focusing on wrestling and soccer. Wrestling, in particular, taught me discipline, resilience, and how to keep pushing forward even when progress feels slow or difficult.

I started lifting weights at 17 years old and have been training consistently for nearly 20 years. In my early 20s, I became deeply interested in nutrition and bodybuilding, learning how training, recovery, and nutrition work together to shape performance and physique outcomes. Over time, I began helping friends and family with their own fitness goals before deciding to pursue coaching professionally.

In 2024, I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC).

Outside of fitness, my primary career has been in aerospace engineering. I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and have worked in highly technical engineering and leadership roles across launch vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), and autonomy for the last 17+ years.

That engineering background heavily influences how I coach. The human body is a system, and everybody responds differently. My approach focuses on structured programming, measurable progress, problem solving, and building sustainable strategies around the individual.

Grind Lab Fitness was built on a simple belief:
small consistent wins, stacked over time, create massive results.
